DC Motors
While it is true that DC motors have largely been replaced by standard three-phase motors, there are still MANY applications where they are preferred. For example, they are relatively simple to speed-control by means of voltage variation, and as stand-alone units they have better torque than their AC counterparts.
They DO, however, require regular maintenance to ensure that they run at their best. If this maintenance is undertaken regularly then it can be a relatively simple process. We at Electromotors have many years of experience in undertaking this work, and will gladly examine your units and estimate the costs for you.
